Life as a first responder is often filled with traumatic experiences. We see things, on a regular basis, which the average citizen will never experience.

This program is designed to provide an overview of the causes and effect of single incident and cumulative traumatic events on the first responder professional.  It will highlight signs and symptoms traumatized individuals typically display.

The program will also provide attendees with an in-depth look at how and why alcohol and other substances are often used by first responders as the default method of dealing with both traumatic events and the daily stressors of life.  One goal of this presentation is to raise awareness around trauma and substance abuse.

Finally, presenters will cover the evidence-based treatment options available to help First Responder Professionals deal with these issues in a positive and healthy manner.
